This morning I woke up with an insight into a dream I had a couple of nights ago. I told this dream to a few people, but it only now dawned on me that it was all about me, not just some interesting information I happened to connect to in my dream-world. Carl Jung said that our dream-world is the soul’s stage where we get clarity about what is really going on in our lives beyond the contriving of the ego.
In my dream I am the speaker at the commencement of a gathering for sending prayers and blessings to others. On the video screen at the front of the room, there was a ship, and I was speaking about sending blessings to this ship. As we were doing so, the ship became smaller, a mere boat. The bottom of the boat began to crack open and yellow ooze came gushing out, and I could hear the voices of the people inside clamoring at the chaos.
In my calm voice I heard myself saying that it was okay. When we pray for things to be a certain way, it does not necessarily turn out the way we want it, and it may make us angry. I continued speaking about prayer. That when we pray, we are not asking of or for anything outside of ourselves. The act of prayer is a way of quietening the mind, going beyond the ego and making a space for the Truth of who we are to come forward and to attract the same energy in our outside world. This energy takes the form of things that are for the highest good for ourselves and others. It may not necessarily be what we asked for or want, but it is what needs to happen for the lessons that are needed for all parties involved.
When I woke up from that dream, I thought, how cool, a teaching dream, but not connecting it to me. This morning though, it was very clear that it was a teaching for me. I have been wanting resolution of a disharmonious situation in my life. Instead, the more I try to fix things, the more I seem to create more crap and make things worse.
The insight from the dream was a clear message to me. Some things just have to be because we are not yet ready for it to be different. Until we go inside and create the very same energy that we are wanting by aligning to the highest in ourselves, we cannot have resolution on the outside. I see that I can only have resolution within myself, regardless of whether or not the situation changes outside. It does not matter what happens on the outside, it has no effect on me because on the inside I am in alignment with Self, the truth of beingness.
When I have come to peace inside, the war can be raging outside and it would still be okay in my world. I don’t have to make everything outside of myself harmonious so that I can be peaceful. That is contriving, it uses up a lot of energy, and only creates pain for myself. No matter how hard I try, things are not going to change until all the energies involved are in alignment to create the space for it to happen. The harmony that I want is not going to happen until all of us are in agreement that they want it too.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I appreciate your words! Thank you for sharing. Just considering the inside job you mention. I began a year and a half ago a spiritual journey about doing one’s inner work. There are many ways to do our inner work. I am looking for another or a few interested in sharing this journey with me. I am doing some soul ” work” as described by Caroline Myss in her book entitled “Entering the Castle”.
It is a powerful (challenging ) journey where one faces their fears step by step to the deepest. The goal is to live in acceptance and take action from places of empowerment instead of fear. She suggests in the book that most people make the bulk of their decisions based on fear and what a different world we would live if more and more of us made decisions based on faith and personal empowerment.
It is a mystical journey that is truly exciting. You mentioned prayer in your article and Caroline Myss suggests as one journeys through one’s “Castle” they use prayer as their way through the darkness. There are many rooms in one’s “Castle ” and each room has a spiritual quest. One can create their own rooms and use the ones set up in the book.
The book is based on Saint Teresa of Avila’s book entitled ” The Interior Castle”. It was written hundreds of years ago. I have a copy and it is like reading Greek. I cannot follow where she is going with concepts. I understand Caroline Myss did a modern “user friendly” type of version. Perhaps I can use your space to solicit some interest on my quest, if you or anyone reading this wants to know more I would be happy to share! It is encouraged that one doing the Castle work do so with the support of a spiritual guide or companion.
Much gratitude Miruh!
Dear Miruh! Reading your powerful post on real harmony brings in the example of none other than our creation. If anyone is going to wait for the cat and mouse to hold hands and join the dance floor and then call the whole world to be in harmony, its just ignorance.
The entire existence with all its diversity is indeed in harmony and what better way the creator can demonstrate it other than his own creation.
No matter what it is outside, its one’s own harmony with one’s own true self that finally matters, both outside and inside with this creation.

Hello Regine,
Welcome!
I am glad you like this post. I will be happy to shed some light on any questions you may have. Many times I read these posts over and find new insights, things that I too have missed. I know that these topics can be difficult to grasp on first reading, particularly if you are new to my blog. My earlier posts have some more introductions to these concepts I write about.
I appreciate your stopping by and commenting.
Love and blessings to you!
It is really an amazing post about the inner voice. I believe that dreams are the mixture of our thinking. But many times i dreamed something such an unusual that i can’t even think this could even be come on my dream. I always tried to trace why such kind of dreams come in our life? Science says dreams are mixture of two kinds of memory – one is short term memory and other is long term memory. What we deeply think is stored in our long term memory and when we pass things with less memory, it is stored in short term memory. Although some of our dreams are completely out of our memory area.
Spirituality is something on which I believe more than science, and dreams can really be an inner voice of our soul. I like the words flown in this article.
