Like a house of mirrors, the myths reflect back who we are. I can see how that aspect of Orpheus's journey, to rescue his love in the depths of the underworld, enchanting the spirits with his songs, appeals to you. Me, I am stuck with WHY? What does it mean that Orpheus's head gets stored in the grotto sacred to his Nemesis, Dionysus? Did Apollo do Orpheus a favor by silencing him, like a friend performing an intervention on one who is out of control? This is the beauty of the myth, all our insights are perfect for what we need to know! May love create an empire of beauty in your myth! Dear Maithri,

The one lesson that stood out for me is that sometimes to allow someone to live we must accept that we do not possess them and that we must let go.
