Movement In The Dream

Lone spindly trees in a denuded forest painting a blue sky
Honking geese flying south
Trout swimming free from the fisherman’s hook
A wounded animal escaping to the forest
A squealing toddler running against the wind
Strong voices singing a kindred women song
A contented gurgle from a starving child’s belly
Breaking through suffering a bitter-sweet moment

Round and round we go
Spiraling through space
In a galaxy held in loving embrace
The central core is who we are
Moving outward no trace of separate self
A motley crew we dream
Kaleidoscopic scenes merging
Dancing to the stillness in movement

Fabulous poetry, Miruh! I especially love this line…A contented gurgle from a starving child’s belly”…that spells happiness to me. Well done…I wish I could write poetry!

It is quite the journey and you have illustrated it with eloquence.

Hello Marion,

I too used to think like you, then I thought to myself that I already have writing skills, I just have to allow myself to write in verse. Then it happened and by the comments, I have to say it is as good as the other writing I do. Maybe I will be reading about your nature posts in verse soon. 😀

May your words take wings!

Hello Mark,

What I love about poetry is that it touches us with its images and speaks to us going beyond the mind. I am glad that these words paint a narrative of the soul for you.

Love and blessings!

Hello Lisa,

You are most welcome! I love the image, it was posted on the day I wrote the poem…A motley crew we dream. 😀

May you walk in beauty all around you!

Oh, Miruh! What a lovely poem! Your imagery paints a picture my soul recognizes immediately!

I love the line, “Strong voices singing a kindred women song.”

You are that voice!

Hello Linda,

Thanks for your kind words, glad these words speak to you!

Indeed strong voices we are, singing the song of our souls. The power of words to uplift and heal is the gift we have to give and to be nurtured a thousand fold.

Love and blessings!
