Regretfully Yours

by Miruh on May 23, 2009

To allow oneself to be carried away by a multitude of conflicting concerns, to surrender to too many demands, to commit oneself to too many projects, to want to help everyone in everything, is to succumb to the violence of our times…Thomas Merton

“Miruh sends her regrets. She is unable to attend…..” There are many things that are not being attended to, including writing in this blog and socializing with others on the blogosphere and around. It is the height of Spring and a hectic time in the garden, digging and planting and admiring other people’s gardens. Regret is not the appropriate word, though it is the common linguistic term used. Regret is an emotion that conjures up a sense of loss and disappointment. My days are filled with hope and expectation for a beautiful, abundant garden with lots of fragrant, colorful flowers and delicious fruits and vegetables.

Here are some beautiful places I visited near me recently.  Happy Spring!!!

so beautiful! Dear Miruh, there is nothing to regret, i feel. Expectations from you by others or by you from others can never lead to completeness. You seem to be having a wonderful completeness and so be it.

Hello Mergingpoint,

“Expectations…can never lead to completeness.” These are wise words. I am learning to see the perfection in all experiences. The mind wants its way, telling us it is not enough to just be OK with what is.

Thank you for your deep peaceful presence here!

Miruh – I completely relate to your circumstances, as mine are the same! I want to write, but just don’t feel that urge like I did during the winter months. But that is to be expected, I think. Winter is an introspective time, Spring is not!

Enjoy your garden, and I will enjoy mine. No guilt! When the spirit moves you to write, Write, and I will do the same!

Here’s to getting dirty – Nicole

Hello Nicole,

I took your advice and spent the day just lying in the sun in my backyard, enjoying birdsong and fragrant flowers. :D

The visual sense awakens so much positive energy buried deep inside. Images such as these enable blog readers to open their minds to multisensual experience. In some cases, it is possible to enter photos and merge with the energy of nature.

Hello Liara,

I agree, it is possible to tap into the energy of visual images. That is why it is so important to be fully present when we look at disturbing images and not be unconsciously absorbing what is coming through our senses.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
