Hello Mark,

I agree, "it is how we love and that we are love. I believe that we should do no harm in any way. "

To live in a way in which we respect ourselves and all of creation, sentient and insentient is the highest aspiration. Only when we have this awareness, we can evolve to know the Truth.

Thanks for your gracious presence and words or wisdom.

Deep peace to you!

Hello Lea,

Thanks for dropping by.

The Bhagavad Gita is an enigma, but looking at it from the perspective of metaphor, it is a great philosophy to live by.

Still, the reference to duty is important, for the caste system had its usefulness in that society. Whether or not war is ethical or useful, it is interesting that it is part of the scriptures of Eastern and Western religions except maybe the Buddhist.

I read it for the wisdom it teaches and consider it a myth.

May you be embraced in soft peace and warm love!

Interesting! In the end of the day, it is how we love and that we are love. I believe that we should do no harm in any way. When we have harmful thoughts, we should do no harm to our self and allow the thought to flow and to not beat our self up over the thought. Doing no harm also means and very importantly means do no harm to our self.

Thank you for your interpretation of this segment of the Bhagavad Gita. When I first read this book, I was disturbed and confused by the statement "war is necessary," or words to that affect.

With your interpretation, I now realize I was thinking in terms of worldly war, which I feel is useless, instead of our inner personal wars that each of us wage at one time or another, whether we're on the path to enlightenment or not.

I admit I found the Bhagavad Gita very deep and challenging. I might attribute that to being a Westerner, but even a Hindu that I quizzed on this "war is necessary" quote, didn't understand why this would be so.

Thank you for helping me get a better perception. Have a great day
