Knowledge is power you say
The power to create peace or non-peace
In these troubled times see clearly
Through the narrative of apocalyptic prophecies
The doomsdaysayers and seers in the marketplace
Hawking wares for salvation of the deserved
A narrative of duality of good against evil
I am grateful for the narrative of non-duality:
One fire enters the world and takes form
Whatever it enters is no different from the One
It is eternal amidst the transient
It is not affected by the sorrows of the world
Steadfast in this narrative, the wise ones
Loosen the grip of the bondage of suffering
In the hypnotic trance of cause and effect
Be wary of the instant gratification salvation seekers
You told me the journey would be long and steep
That like a bird in flight
One wing supported by grace
The other by self-effort of daily contemplation
While being compassionate towards my neighbour
And aware of the fishes in the polluted sea
Each mindful moment soars on the breath of awakening
You say this human birth is a gift
This walk on earth is a place of becoming
To change my perspective to one of non-duality
That there is nothing I have to get rid of
That this journey is about making friends with myself
To honor, to love and respect myself
Just as I am with compassion, with loving-kindness
As many narratives of reality
As many worlds of interpretation
Choose to live the one with unity consciousness
Friendliness towards self and other
Where those weak with sorrow find joy
Where the fearful become free
Where peace belongs to everyone
